We shrink from the pains in our lives, but rarely do we see the gift in it all
Strength is acquired.
When we feel like we are at our weakest, and when it seems like there is no way out of the madness that becomes our lives, and even as it seems otherwise, pain and heartache contain gifts in them that nothing else can give to us.
The gifts contained within
No one likes to hurt, and no one wants to cry, but we all do both of those two things. When we are met with a challenge that brings to us the same feeling of another situation that happened at another time in our lives and which continues to happen we can gauge, eventually, when it is that our lives will be met with challenge. Most of the time those tests and those hurts come from people who we least expect them from, and when it happens, most of the time, we don't forget the feeling, even as we have forgotten the words which contained all that emotion and all that heartache and all of the pain that too many of us hang onto.
Pain can show itself to us in so many different ways and through so many different people and we are not aware of the messenger because we are too aware of the emotions we are having. If we could step back from time to time and not see these happenings as anything more than Spirit leading us to where we need to be and more, with whom we need to go through these times, we would very dearly see what it is that we need to do, and almost all of what we need to do is learn a new way of dealing with our pain so as to bring it out of us in a way that serves rather than does not serve.
We learn much from our pain, but many of us are not aware of the lessons that we learn until one day it dawns on us, the reason we suffered, and always the reason is that we needed to. We needed the gift brought by the pain because without that gift we could not go out into the world to impart onto the rest of the planet what it is that we have for it. Without the pain in our lives, there are no doctors who perhaps lost a relative to disease, no firefighters willing to risk life and limb who may have lost someone many years ago and in answer to that pain they became heroes, and without the heartache, we do not know what it is like to no longer be Loved as we might once have been. Without all these things that happen and that break us for a moment, we would never be able to claim fame as no longer being the proverbial diamond in the rough that has come into their own and is now as shiny and brilliant as the sun itself.
We cannot know the depth at which we need to heal unless we are able to go within ourselves, see what it is that we have to face, and ultimately, through a lot of denial of the Soul of its own needs in exchange for the ego's wants, and see to it that the thing which keeps presenting itself to us is the very thing, no matter what it is that we think we want, happens anyway. The lessons brought to our awareness through the pain are the lessons we thought we were done with but were really not. In fact, the initial hurt was not the part that hurt the most. What hurt the most was the idea that we suffered and did not bother to see the initial learning, suffered and could not see the real reason why we suffered. We end up being angry with ourselves because we knew at one point that we were learning something and yet we still went back to the place in our minds where we were comfortable, even as we were in pain.
Many of us want to shun the pain, shun the lesson, but there is gold in the lesson, and there is reward in the painful process of clearing out that which no longer serves us. What happens is we end up parting out all the things that we learned, and we start to delve into the process of delving into the process, and one day, we go through the pieces of our lives and the very sharp-edged shards of our own broken heart, and we see something different there, something that is lovely and new and something that, even as we know what we are looking at, is now no longer that which it was but rather has morphed into what will serve us at this point in time. We can see the pieces of our broken hearts as just that - a broken heart, or we can see in those pieces the components of the mosaic called Life...when you look at it in this manner, suddenly it is not really that hard to see the gift in the heartache.
Folks, instead of looking away from the pain, choose to look at it, smile at it with your big giant toothy grin, and tell it that you plan on turning it into something beautiful, no matter what. Only you can turn your grief and your anger and the very pieces of your broken self into the work of art that you are.
'Tis the season, not only for gifts, but also, for change....so how about you change your mind about the mess that you think is your life and see it as the brand new medium with which to mold the rest of your time on the planet?
Just sayin...
I Love You ALL!!!
